About Us

There were two wonderful dogs that inspired me to breed Miniature Aussies. Both dogs were black Tris, and they both shared the name "Blossom". The first "Blossom" was an unregistered Australian Shepherd type that we adopted from the SPCA when she was six weeks old and I was about 9 years old in spring of 1977. She was an outstanding companion to a young girl that was an only child. She followed me everywhere and wanted to do whatever I was doing. She was incredibly loyal and intelligent! I think her name came from a Disney movie I really liked at the time. My second "Blossom" (shown in both pictures above) came much later in my life in the year 2020. I was searching for a small dog that loved riding long distances in the car because my husband, Bill and I were running a Pilot Car business and we were traveling many miles every day escorting windmill blades all over the country. From my research, I decided I wanted a toy Aussie and I contacted my really good friend, Kathy Moreland. She told me that I was in luck because she had a feisty, little black Tri. "Blossom" was my first registered Australian Shepherd. Although she is very opinionated about things because she is the queen of the pack, she is very intelligent, humorous and outgoing. Since she is such a joy to me and my husband, along with Blossom, we now have 5 fun-loving miniature Aussies. This year, we have started showing at ICKC and ASDR shows. We won several blue ribbons and we are hooked! We are passionate about our miniature Australian Shepherds, and we are into breeding these over-the-top dogs because we want to share the world with them!

Puppy Socialization
We socialize our puppies extensively before they go to their new homes. This sets them up for a confident, well-adjusted life. Here’s a solid approach that balances exposure with safety.
1. We expose puppies to a wide variety of sights, sounds, smells, surfaces, and gentle handling as early as possible — within the safe window of immune development and maternal protection.
2. We touch their paws, ears, mouth, tail, and belly regularly. Get them used to being handled the way a vet, groomer, or child might — but always gently and positively.
3. We try to Introduce them to many types of people: different ages, genders, ethnicities, people wearing hats, glasses, etc.
4. We expose them to different sounds: letting them hear vacuums,TVs, doorbells, and so on at mild levels. Pair with play or treats to make the sounds positive.
5. If safe and healthy, we expose them to friendly, vaccinated dogs, horses and chickens.
6. We introduce things like umbrellas, bicycles, various floor textures (grass, tile, carpet), etc.
7. We give our puppies short car trips and positive crate experiences help prepare them for vet visits and travel.
8. We brush their coat, trim nails, wipe ears (even pretend), and reward to build positive associations.
9. We keep exposures brief and upbeat. We end sessions before they get tired or stressed.
